The Art of Warhammer Video Games is a love letter to an amazing 3 decades of Warhammer gaming. Unlike other products from this franchise, this book focuses solely on the video game market. Additionally, it highlights facts and lore that would otherwise be missed. Author Andy Hall has combined incredible imagery with a chronological romp through the ages. Whether it is 40K, Age of Sigmar, Fantasy, or Blood Bowl, this book has you covered.
I didn’t realise how many Warhammer games I have played and loved over the years. This book highlights many key moments from my childhood while adding depth and interesting unknown elements. Although some of the chapters are remarkably small, there are still interesting moments to stop and make you think.

The Art of Warhammer Video Games is a book for everyone.
No matter your age or reading comprehension, The Art of Warhammer Video Games is a book for everyone. The easy-to-digest information is paired with incredible imagery. Furthermore, there are nice side notes to help you put together every element you see. I particularly enjoy the flowing storytelling between each element of a franchise.
I’m not hinting at a Warhammer story, but Andy Hall creates a flowing narrative that pins together each game and how they work in the series. Additionally, the opening moments highlight key elements from each game. For example, you’ll be told the setting and how this sits within the Warhammer scene. This was amazing, as would-be gamers can use these nuggets of information before they bite the bullet and invest in each game.

Build quality.
The Art of Warhammer Video Games is available as a hardback book or a digital file for Amazon Kindle. I was sent the hardback book, and I was impressed. Everything about it screams quality, and it is going to look amazing when placed on my shelf. The binding, paper, and vibrant images feel great and look incredible. Every page is filled with easy-to-read text and stunning character models.
Alongside this, there are plenty of pixelated images to highlight the franchise progression across the 3 decades. Despite the pixelation, the images are not blown out or hard to look at. Instead, they have a lush retro style that brings years of gaming heritage to life.

The Art of Warhammer Video Games is an ideal gift.
If you are looking for a gift for a Warhammer fan, you will not go wrong with this book. The amazing information, colourful pictures, and snippets of lore are enough to drive hardcore fans crazy. Additionally, there are 3 full games to download via Steam included in the price. If that wasn’t enough, there is an unlock code for Tacticus, the mobile phone game. Accordingly, I think this book is phenomenal, and recommend buying it here!
