The Rival 3 Wireless Mouse is the ideal choice for those who want a vibrant, affordable, and upmarket gaming peripheral. Moreover, it is a plug-and-play device that allows gamers to focus on the task at hand. Alongside this, it is comfortable to use, and its lightweight design helps to reduce fatigue.

In addition to this, the ergonomic design, sleek buttons, and lightning-fast sensor ensure that this is the perfect companion for gamers, regardless of their skill level. I was given the aqua version to review. This mouse was paired with 3 other aqua products from SteelSeries. As such, my gaming rig is top-end while looking incredible.

What’s in the box of the Rival 3 Wireless Mouse?

  • The packaging is robust but tiny. SteelSeries has delivered a space-saving, environmentally friendly box.
  • The Rival 3 Wireless Mouse is remarkably simple, yet visually appealing. It features customisable side buttons and a DPI button. The design is understated but professional.
  • A wireless dongle is provided.

Technical aspects.

It’s rare for me to review a AAA battery-powered PC peripheral. Typically, the products feature rechargeable built-in batteries for convenience. However, the Rival 3 Wireless Mouse require 1 or 2 AAA batteries to use it. This was surprising but a genius move. Not only does it reduce weight, but you don’t need to worry about your internal batteries going bad. Furthermore, this device offers up to 450 hours of Bluetooth gaming. Alternatively, if you use the wireless dongle, you’ll enjoy 175 hours of juice.

If you prioritise battery life over speed, you’ll enjoy 125 Hz polling rates. Alternatively, if you use the wireless dongle, you’ll get up to 1000 Hz polling. This is the ideal option for elite gamers and those who need incredible speeds. If 1000 Hz is too fast for you, you can select 500 Hz, 250 Hz, or 125 Hz. This versatile and forward-thinking approach makes this the perfect option for gamers, commuters, or office workers.

Usability.

This is one of the easiest-to-use gaming peripherals I’ve encountered. Once you set it up, you simply switch it on and get on with gaming. Furthermore, the side buttons are easy to use and ideal if you love macros. I wasn’t too bothered, but it is nice to have them just in case.

The pixel-perfect TrueMove Air optic gaming sensor (18K DPI) ensures that every gaming session is trouble-free. Furthermore, you’ll enjoy low-latency inputs and pinpoint precision. Consequently, this mouse will appeal to a large audience.

Build quality.

Alongside the amazing battery life, versatility, and easy-to-use approach, you get a durable product that is built to last. The Rival 3 Wireless Mouse is engineered with high-grade polymer and switches for a device that will last the test of time. Additionally, it offers 6x the average guarantee for clicks. The switches offer at least 60 million clicks during their lifetime. This is incredible, and it’s not something I can test. However, I’m pretty impressed by the statement.

The mouse is wonderfully comfortable to use. The position of every button is ideal for stress-free and low-fatigue gaming. Furthermore, the ergonomic and smooth shell feels great against your hand. If you pair this up with a QcK mousepad, you’ll have a fantastic gaming experience.

Is the Rival 3 Wireless Mouse worth it?

Available for under £55, the Rival 3 Wireless Mouse is incredible value for money. Not only does it look fantastic, but it also boasts market-leading features that will blow you away. Although it cannot be used with a USB cable, this shouldn’t matter. The use of AAA batteries ensures that you will rarely be out of juice. Furthermore, it is incredibly responsive, comfortable, and perfect for gamers. Accordingly, I love it and recommend buying it here!
