Every time a new Football Manager game is released, there is a collective global groan and cry of joy. If you are addicted to this much-loved franchise, you’ll invest months perfecting your team, tactics, and club. Alternatively, if you hate this game, you know that your partner or child will live under a rock forevermore. Accordingly, Football Manager 2024 Console edition will test the strongest relationships.

This management simulation title was developed by Sports Interactive and published by SEGA. Moreover, it retains much of the core gameplay whilst incorporating some interesting new features. Consequently, the action feels familiar and exciting in equal measure.

Tweak your tactics.
Time to tweak those tactics.

Football Manager 2024 Console edition lets you write your own story.

There is something undeniably intriguing about this franchise. I adore the ability to test your skills and knowledge in the transfer market. Additionally, tweaking your tactics to get the best out of every player is rewarding and realistic. Alongside this, you must nurture young talent and keep your players protected from injuries. As such, there are plenty of plates to spin if you wish to rise to the top.

However, what I love most about Football Manager 2024 Console edition is the freedom to write your own story. Whether you wish to start from the bottom and get to the top, or if you want to push your favourite team to each cup final, it is just as good. No matter what approach you take, there are twists and turns throughout. What’s more, you can be as hands-on or as distant as you wish. Either way, you’ll love this latest iteration.

New features.

It would be remiss of me to overlook the latest and greatest features. Subsequently, let’s have a look at what’s on offer. First, interactions with your players have greater depth and a heightened sense of realism. Instead of a predictable formula, you must consider how each conversation will impact the larger picture. As such, you must be committed to your decisions or learn to live with the consequences.

Another fine feature was the set piece editor. We all consider ourselves masterful tacticians. Well, now is your chance to prove your worth in a dead-ball situation! This element is a little fiddly to begin with. But once you understand the finer points, you can rip your opponents apart and enhance your tactical prowess. Alongside this, the transfer market and contracts are fairer and more realistic. Consequently, you feel like you have a fighting chance against the bigger teams from each league. Finally, training has taken a massive leap forward. Accordingly, you can get the best out of both veterans and youngsters, alike.

Haaland continues his scoring streak.
Haaland scores….what a surprise!

A massive database.

I was blown away by the volume of teams and the accuracy of each professional player. Additionally, the Xbox Series X handles the vast database with ease. As such, if you want a monstrous game that includes plenty of worldwide leagues, you needn’t worry. Alternatively, if you want to streamline things, that’s okay as well. Therefore, you can tailor each playthrough to your tastes.

Football Manager 2024 Console edition is well presented.

Though Football Manager 2024 Console edition won’t blow you away visually, it is well presented, nonetheless. Thanks to the excellent UI and easy-to-follow tabs, you can manage the mountains of data with ease. Alongside this, the in-game animation and wonderful commentary enhance the drama and suspense as each game unfolds.

On top of this, the audio rarely surprises you. Though there are some nice atmospheric sound effects, there isn’t much else to talk about. Subsequently, whenever you load this up, you can happily pop on a podcast or your favourite track without undermining the action.

Study every player in great detail.
Study every player.

Excellent controls.

Though the learning curve is relatively harsh, you soon get used to the fundamentals. However, mastering every layer of this complex title is no mean feat. Thankfully, though, the excellent controls ensure that frustrations are kept under control. Moreover, the port to console has been well-considered and using a gamepad is a cinch.

I’m not going to beat around the bush. Football Manager 2024 Console Edition is a time sink! If you get hooked on this game, you will not talk to your significant other or children for the foreseeable future. Additionally, you will struggle to accept losing key games, important players, or when things go wrong. As such, this oozes both replay value and longevity.

Football Manager 2024 Console edition is wonderful.

Football Manager 2024 Console edition is a spectacular addition to the franchise. Thanks to its strong foundations, the developers couldn’t get it wrong. Thankfully, the new elements add depth and realism, and the massive database of players and teams will impress you. What’s more, it is wonderfully familiar and incredibly well-polished. Consequently, I love it and I recommend that you buy it here! Can you become the next big thing? Choose your team, pick the tactics, and rise to the top.
