My video review with footage captured using my Xbox Series X.

Bluey: The Videogame is a long-awaited title. This much-loved TV series is adored by children and adults alike. Consequently, when the video game was announced, there was excitement brewing no matter your age. However, I wondered how such a punchy and witty cartoon would traverse the gaming threshold. Well, the developers have done a great job with their concise level design, speedy chapters, and easy-to-follow gameplay.

This action-adventure title was developed by Artax Games and published by Outright Games. Moreover, this colourful endeavour is full of collectables, easy-to-understand quests, and many much-loved characters. Accordingly, this will appeal to younger gamers and adults alike.

The family are searching for items.
Can you find the item?

Bluey: The Videogame hits the right notes.

Bluey: The Videogame doesn’t impress you with a deep and fulfilling story. Instead, it focuses on bite-sized chapters that are loaded with familiar moments from the adored TV series. Furthermore, the witty one-liners and comfortable settings will appeal to fans of the franchise.

On top of this, the simple-to-follow story ensures that you don’t become bored or overloaded by complex lore. Instead, you’ll enjoy a mindless endeavour that is filled with amusing moments, collectables, and basic mechanics.

Bluey and Bingo are about to undertake an exciting adventure. Their holiday has just begun, but unbeknownst to them, they are going to experience a fun-filled journey. The young pair play with their family whilst searching for collectables and piecing together a treasure map. This experience comprises a trip to the park with Muffin, an annoying encounter with Chattermax, and a relaxing trip to the creek. As such, though it doesn’t have loads of depth, it scratches that Bluey itch.

Why, oh why did he get you a new Chattermax?
Oh no, not Chattermax!

Basic quests and plenty of freedom.

Bluey: The Videogame is split into 2 distinct approaches. First, the story takes priority. Whenever you progress the plot, you must undertake plenty of basic tasks. Additionally, you’ll witness smooth and hilarious cutscenes. However, once you finish each episode, you are free to explore as much as you like.

This is where the majority of the gameplay unfolds. As you traverse each location, you must find collectables and stickers. On top of this, there is a newspaper to find and a bug to collect. Moreover, you must locate a hockey stick and a delicious cake. Yet, to make matters harder, there are 3 of each of these items in every location. Accordingly, your kids will be kept busy with this collectathon title.

Bluey: The Videogame looks fantastic.

Visually, Bluey: The Videogame didn’t disappoint. The colourful characters and vivid landscapes reminded me of the TV series. Alongside this, the cutscenes were great and the roster of beloved protagonists will not disappoint. However, there were some glitches and bugs that undermined the end product. Furthermore, it was occasionally tough to navigate tight spaces and this caused unnecessary frustrations.

Where this excels, however, is the audio. The wholesome soundtrack captures the emotion of each chapter. Alongside this, the voice acting was perfect and the sound effects were simple but impressive. Consequently, the developers have done a great job with this game.

Simple controls.

This child-friendly title was easy to play. Thanks to the simple controls and clean UI, younger gamers will love every minute. Moreover, limited guidance is necessary once your munchkins understand the fundamentals. As such, you can let them play this without concern as each concise area is easy to navigate.

Where this is lacking is replay value. Though there are plenty of collectables to find and you are free to play any of the unlocked games to your heart’s content, these things don’t entertain you forever. As such, once everything has been located, there will be limited reason to return. Thankfully, though, you can play this cooperatively if you so wish, and this enhances longevity somewhat.

Bluey: The Videogame didn’t disappoint.

My kids adored this and I loved it even more. Thankfully, Bluey: The Videogame didn’t disappoint. However, its niche gameplay will appeal to a limited audience. Yet if you cherish the franchise and love gaming with your kids, then this is a no-brainer. Accordingly, I enjoyed it and I recommend that you buy it here! Can you find the treasure and enjoy your holiday? Find the collectables, complete every quest, and discover every secret.
