The Monoprice 8K@60Hz USB-C to DP Cable is a well-built and versatile alternative to a docking system. Furthermore, this incredible cable delivers crystal clear video and audio quality. As such, if you have a mobile phone, tablet, or gaming device that you wish to use on a bigger screen, then this is the option for you.

Console docks such as JSAUX’s Steam Deck accessory are fantastic. However, if you have a small workstation or you travel a lot, you may not wish to be weighed down by more peripherals. Accordingly, if you feel that way, then this cable is perfect for you. Not only does it mirror your screen, but it produces mind-blowing colours and a lag-free experience.

What’s in the box of the Monoprice 8K@60Hz USB-C to DP Cable?

  • Don’t expect anything fancy, as this cable comes in a clear plastic bag. Though this approach is a little unorthodox, it helps to reduce costs.
  • The Monoprice 8K@60Hz USB-C to DP Cable is braided and the connections use aluminium housings.

Technical aspects.

DP connectivity is becoming more commonplace. As a consequence, it is always handy to have an array of DP cables at the ready. However, if you want to be ahead of the game, I suggest you take a look at this option. Rated up to 8K resolution, this will blow your mind. Furthermore, it delivers exceptional refresh rates depending on the resolution you pick.

At 8K, you’ll enjoy a smooth 60Hz performance. Yet, as you half the resolution, you double the refresh rate. Therefore, at 4K you’ll enjoy 144Hz/120Hz, and at 2K you’ll receive a whopping 240Hz. However, that is not all, as this cable supports HDR10+. As such, if you have a compatible device, you’ll experience richer colours, sharper contrasts, and crisp lines. Additionally, the wider range of colours helps any movie, game, or TV series come to life.

Build quality.

Broken cables and poor performance go hand-in-hand. Subsequently, purchasing a high-quality cable is a must. Thankfully, the Monoprice 8K@60Hz USB-C to DP Cable is as good as it gets! The braided material allows it to be flexible whilst still protecting the internal components. Alongside this, the aluminium connectors are robust and easy to handle.

On top of this, the cable is designed to prevent overheating, and this ensures optimal performance at all times. My only gripe is the 6-foot length. I’d have preferred something more substantial as it increases usability and makes it more versatile. Yet, in its current format, it is suitable for many day-to-day tasks.

Is the Monoprice 8K@60Hz USB-C to DP Cable worth it?

Though your current monitor or TV may not have a DP port, your future purchase will. Consequently, getting the right cables for the job is essential. Therefore, you won’t want a mediocre connection, nor will you want a poor resolution and terrible refresh rate. As such, investing in this cable futureproofs your set-up whilst offering the best performance around. Accordingly, I recommend that you buy it here!
