The Atom Controller from Turtle Beach is a phenomenal way to game when you are out and about. This Cloud Gaming device is designed for iPhone and is compatible with the iPhone 11-14. Its excellent modular design can be adjusted to snuggly fit your phone within its jaws. Consequently, you are assured that your phone is safe at all times.

Alongside the excellent build quality, I was impressed with the responsive buttons and the comfortable layout. Furthermore, it was simple to set up and easy to pack away. Subsequently, it is an ideal device if you commute or you work away from home. On top of this, I loved its Sci-Fi style.

What’s in the box of the Atom Controller?

  • The compact packaging is great to look at. I adored the crisp design and the easy-to-read information. Moreover, it can be recycled, and that is fantastic.

Technical aspects.

Cloud Gaming is big business. However, to get the most out of it, you need a fantastic connection and a responsive controller. Now, I can’t help you with the first point, but I can guarantee that the Atom Controller is unbelievably responsive. Thanks to its Bluetooth features, you’ll enjoy low-latency gaming.

This device has two independent Bluetooth modules that are connected via a proprietary 2.4 GHz wireless link. This seamless connection ensures that every input is actioned immediately. Additionally, connecting the controller to your phone was a piece of cake. Consequently, you don’t need to be tech-savvy to make the most of your experience.

Alongside this, you don’t want your battery to run out mid-session. Thankfully, the Atom Controller has a whopping 20+ hours of battery life. What’s more, it can be charged using the USB-C port to keep the action coming. However, what is missing is a pass-through charging facility. As such, you could enjoy a fully charged controller but run out of juice on your phone. This was disappointing, but some forward planning alleviated this issue.

Build quality.

I loved the responsive nature of this device. However, the build quality impressed me more! The modular design is spectacular. Subsequently, the ability to slide it into a neat package impressed me. Alongside this, every element was user-friendly and easy to understand.

On top of this, I loved how simple it was to clasp your phone in the housing. Thanks to the spring-loaded grips, your phone is secured and it will not move. As such, I was never worried that either the controller or my phone would become damaged.

Finally, I have to comment on the console-like button layout. The impressive travel distance and tactile nature of each button were incredible. Accordingly, there is a real sense of depth and familiarity with this accessory. Additionally, the distance between the analogue sticks and the buttons was just right. Therefore, my hands never felt sore or fatigued, no matter how long I played.

Is the Atom Controller worth it?

If you love to game on your iPhone, then this device must be on your radar. Not only does it look great, but it enhances your gaming experience. Moreover, it is easy to set up and the inputs are wonderfully responsive. My only complaint is the lack of pass-through charging. However, this is a minor gripe and isn’t something that should put you off. Accordingly, I loved it and I recommend that you buy it here!
