The Monoprice 13-in-1 Triple Docking Station is an exceptional tool that can streamline your office space. Moreover, it goes one better than the Monoprice 12-in-1 Triple Docking Station. Thankfully, this unit includes a DP port instead of the tried-and-tested VGA output. Accordingly, this setup is better suited to those with a more advanced rig.

This incredible docking station allows the user to enhance their productivity whilst allowing up to 3 simultaneous displays. Furthermore, you can connect an array of USB-powered accessories or transfer data at an alarming rate. What’s more, it can be connected to a local network thanks to its Gigabit Ethernet port. As such, this is a great option if you wish to simplify your office space without compromising your performance.

What’s in the box of the Monoprice 13-in-1 Triple Docking Station?

  • The stylish packaging is sleek and professional. I admired the monochromatic design and the simple imagery. Moreover, it is fully recyclable and that must be applauded.
  • The Monoprice 13-in-1 Triple Docking Station is compact, lightweight, and built to last. Additionally, the ports are well-labelled and this device can be transported with ease.
  • A user manual helps explain the fundamentals.

Technical aspects.

Docking stations must be easy to use and simple to set up. What’s more, I desire exceptional data transfer speeds and incredible output resolution. Luckily, the Monoprice 13-in-1 Triple Docking Station delivers each of these requirements and much, much more. This device houses a whopping 5 high-speed USB-A ports. 3 of them allow up to 5 Gbps data speeds with a maximum power output of 5V/0.9A. Additionally, the remaining ports are USB-A 2.0. These allow up to 480 Mbps data speeds.

These well-labelled ports offer enough USB slots for the busiest of users. Whether you work in an office or you game and stream, you need not worry. Accordingly, you can connect your controller, mouse and keyboard, external hard drive, and much more to this amazing device. Alongside this, you can hook up to your local network thanks to the RJ45 Gigabit Ethernet port. This stable connection is perfect if you don’t wish to rely on Wi-Fi. During testing, this delivered a steady and problem-free connection.

The Monoprice 13-in-1 Triple Docking Station allows you to fast charge any compatible device.

Expand your display real estate.

Working from one screen is all well and good. However, for some of us, this isn’t enough. Yet, setting up additional screens and running all those cables is messy and unsightly. Fortunately, the Monoprice 13-in-1 Triple Docking Station lets you connect up to 3 displays with a 4K resolution. However, depending if your source is DP1.4 or DP1.2 mode, it will impact your display resolution. At worst, you will observe 4Kx2K 30 Hz / 3840×2160. At best, however, you’ll enjoy 4Kx2K 60 Hz / 3840×2160. Consequently, both options are viable no matter your needs.

During testing, I had to play around a little to get things just right. Yet, once I was set, I was pleasantly surprised with the outcome. The transition between each display was seamless and the resolution and refresh rate was nice to look at. Moreover, thanks to the Monoprice DisplayPort 1.4 to 8K cable, I enjoyed sharp visuals and a robust and stable setup.

SD reader and through charging.

If you are a content creator or a budding photographer, you’ll want a reliable way to transfer videos and images. Thankfully, the Monoprice 13-in-1 Triple Docking Station has both an SD and Micro SD reader. These sturdy and snug ports work simultaneously while keeping your precious cards safe. With read speeds of 20-40 MB/s and write speeds of 10-30 MB/s, they deliver impressive data transfer speeds.

Alongside this, you can connect any compatible device to the USB-C power delivery port. This exceptional charging point supports 100W as a power adapter. Accordingly, you can charge your host laptop without the hassle of additional cables. Alternatively, you can fast charge other devices as long as you use the correctly rated cable.

Build quality.

This device has a professional edge thanks to its metal finish and sleek black plastic moulding. Moreover, the embossed silver text highlights each port while complementing the core colour. USB-A ports line each side of the docking station. Furthermore, the HDMI ports and DP port are located towards the front. Consequently, this was a great decision as it was easy to switch between ports if you wished to improve your refresh rate.

The USB-C cable is built in and the sturdy and thick rubberised material is robust and hard-wearing. Additionally, the lightweight design was a pleasant surprise, as this makes it easier to transport the device from your home to your office.

Is the Monoprice 13-in-1 Triple Docking Station worth it?

As such, I loved it and I recommend that you buy it here!
