Well this was certainly a pleasant surprise to find out as a new trailer has announced that J.J. Abrams along with his son Henry Abrams, will be partnering with comic book artist Sarah Pichelli and cover artist Olivier Coipe, will debut a limited five issue run of Spider-man
In an interview with Times, alongside longtime Spider-Man editor Nick Lowe, J.J. abrams said: “Nick had been pressing me to do a book with him. A year or so ago, I started talking about it with Henry and it sort of happened organically. And that has been the joy of this. Even though I’ve been talking to Nick for a long time, weirdly, this feels like it just sort of evolved from the conversations of Henry and I, having ideas that got us excited and Nick being open to the collaboration.”

Not only will this be the first time working on a comic book, but this run will introduce a brand new villain named Cadaverous as well as a take on Peter Parker and Spider-Man we have not seen before in the comic books.
I am very intrigued by this collaboration of Abrams father and son with MARVEL clearly having high hopes for this run when it starts in September this year. Who knows what this partnership could give birth too, even just a tease of something with the MCU as it enters its next chapter potentially, anything is possible!
