This week sees the first UK Authorised Mi store from Xiaomi open at Westfield London. The unique retail experience located on the first floor is open just in time for Christmas making quality technology accessible to everyone.
A concept created by Xiaomi, an internet company with smartphones and smart hardware connected by an Internet of Things (“IoT”) platform, the store is designed to demonstrate how a connected life can be a simpler life. It will host a range of its smartphones including its flagship Mi 8 series and Mi A2, as well as exclusive Mi Ecosystem products.
The new retail store, a focus of Xiaomi’s wider business strategy, puts consumers at its heart by offering stylish looking smart devices designed to make life easier – from the wearable Xiaomi Band 3 to the Mi Electric Toothbrush.
With hundreds of fans queueing to get a first glimpse of the connected products on sale, the 219 square foot store saw more than 1,500 customers for its first weekend of trading. Shoppers were seen interacting with everything from connected kettles to a toothbrush that connects to your phone to tell you how effectively you are brushing. Mi 8 and Mi 8 Pro were two of the fastest selling items with Xiaomi Band 3 and Mi Power Bank set to be big sellers this Christmas.

Head of UK Sales and Marketing Wilkin Lee commented, “Traditionally tech companies have tended to move away from bricks and mortar, however, we wanted to ensure we were bringing the full package to UK consumers. This includes an incredible ‘new retail’ store which serves to give our customers better hands-on experiences.”
Continues Wilkin Lee, “We chose iconic Westfield as the venue for our first store in the UK because we felt a great synergy with the brand’s forward-thinking nature and innovation. We believe in the universal pursuit for everyone to enjoy innovative technologies without paying a fortune. The ambition is that this space is where people can come and try out new connected objects, speak to expert staff and discover ways to make their life simpler through technology.”
