Gadget Show Live is coming to NEC Birmingham in two weeks

With only a few weeks until Britain’s biggest technology show Gadget Show Live announces the top ten techs-periences visitors cannot afford to miss at this year’s event.

Gadget Show Live returns to the Birmingham’s NEC from Thursday 31st March to Sunday 3rd April, with 75,000 fans expected to flood through its doors. Tickets are on sale now at gadgetshowlive.net and start at under £10.

1      VR – virtual reality – the biggest talking point in tech today!

Come and test out the Samsung Gear VR, HTC Vive and Merge – the very latest in VR technology. Visitors will be able to discover the Samsung Gear VR experience: the ultimate VR viewing experience that finally makes mobile VR a viewing reality. Immerse yourself in places from around the world and beyond.

Gear VR

–        Visitors can win a VIVE and play the latest VR games Tilt Brush, Space Pirate Trainer, TheBlu, Job Simulator.

–        Experience the world’s first VR relaxation experience using Freefly VR headsets, immersive content from PixelWhipt and audio from the top YouTube ASMR artists.

–        Hear from nDreams – the UK’s biggest VR games publisher – in the Connect Theatre

–        Check out British Inventors’ Project finalist VRGO a truly intuitive and consumer friendly hands free movement controller for VR.

–        The Virtuali-Tee app and t-shirt transforms smartphones and tablets into immersive VR educational adventures. Using the app and the special t-shirt, children can be teleported inside the human body to see organs in animated 3D.

2      AR – augmented reality – the second biggest talking point in tech!

Visitors can immerse themselves in a whole new reality with INDE’s award winning technologies in the Connect Theatre. Learn how AR is changing the way we experience the world, from how we interact with wildlife through to creating greater accessibility for museum collections, and get the chance to interact with an alien avatar live on stage. All true!

3      Drones!

Parrot will be taking over the Drone Flying Zone in the Power Up Zone Gadget Show Live 2016! Drone enthusiast and newbies are all welcome to test the epic Bebop, Blaze, Jett, Mars, Mclane and Travis drones.

Flying Gadgets is also bringing the world’s most advanced consumer drone to Gadget Show Live. The all new Phantom 4 has five cameras on-board, one of them 4K (Ultra High Definition), to capture footage and it can fly autonomously to avoid collisions. It can fly up to 45mph and costs £1,229.

4          All things gaming in The Arcade!         

Visitors can play the very latest games on their own, against friends and even against the pros in the Competition Zone. They can even take part in the PES League UK Finals, check out eight innovative new games in the Indie Zone, take on a Guinness World Record challenge and meet YouTubers Yogscast, Ashlee Mariee Gaming, Elite Squad and Caddicarus.

Yogscast will also be back with its Unfairground in the Gadget Show Live After Hours Theatre on Friday 1 April and don’t miss Clash of the YouTubers on Sunday 3 April.

5          Test drive the Tesla Model S!

Test drive the ground-breaking Model S in the Tesla Car Experience, the latest in electric vehicle technology, including Autopilot functionality, the Supercharger network and software 7.1.

7          Discover the future in the Connect Theatre 

Gen up with expert technology reviews and gadget predictions for the rest of 2016 and beyond. Meet the makers of the Gadget Show TV show. See AR and VR presentations from nDreams and INDE.

8          See the presenters perform in the Super Theatre, sponsored by Currys PC World

The Super Theatre will make a powerful return featuring all four Gadget Show presenters – Jason Bradbury, Jon Bentley, Ortis Deley and Amy Williams – in a brand new, never before seen, hour long performance overflowing with tech and treats. It’s also being filmed for TV for the very first time. Visitors will be treated to jawdropping tricks from magician Jamie Raven, a very special experience with Google Cardboard and the chance to win some top tech prizes.

9          Plan your future tech career

Careers advice is aplenty on Thursday 31 March as, for one-day only, The Gadget Show Live hosts Engineer Your Future, a series of talks and workshops from inspirational tech-world figures, career bodies and educational organisations, to help the innovators of tomorrow get on the right path to a career in technology.  There will also be hands-on projects to try out using the tiny Raspberry Pi computer.  All activities are included in the entry fee price.

10        Meet the gadget Gods of the future

Don’t miss a visit to the British Inventors’ Project where 20 shortlisted inventions – and their inventors – will be on show. The winning invention will be announced at the show by Jason Bradbury
