King Digital Entertainment plc, celebrated the launch of the game’s sister title, Candy Crush Soda Saga, by turning The River Thames in London into a sea of purple Soda and floating giant illuminated replicas of candies from the popular new game under Tower Bridge.

Candy Crush fan and pop-star Nicole Scherzinger was on hand to trigger this magical Soda fountain display. “What a great way to celebrate the launch of Candy Crush Soda Saga” said Sebastian Knutsson, Co-founder and Chief Creative Officer at King. “It brings to life the colour, the excitement and the fun that we aim to achieve in our games. We think it’s a fitting celebration of the next instalment in the Candy Crush franchise and hope our players are as entertained by it as they are by our games.”

“The launch event for Candy Crush Soda Saga was a really magical experience,” says Nicole Scherzinger, renowned American recording artist. “I’m a fan of the original Candy Crush game, so it was a real privilege to be invited to take part in this fantastic launch of the sister title, Candy Crush Soda Saga and have the chance to transform an iconic London landmark like Tower Bridge into an amazing Soda filled spectacle.”

Later on the 20th, one of New York’s most famous city streets will also have its own ‘Sodalicious’ makeover to celebrate the launch of the game. This will be followed by a high impact marketing campaign in major cities across the world where city locations and transport hubs will be transformed by Candy Crush Soda.

Candy Crush Soda Saga builds on the global popularity of the original game by King. This next iteration of the Candy Crush franchise presents a new gaming experience brimming with magical purple Soda, bringing fun new features to players who love the gameplay and story of Candy Crush Saga but are hungry for new challenges.

Candy Crush Soda Saga is available to download for free now from Apple’s App store, Google Play and can also be played on Facebook.
