OnLive has announced the launch of Gaijin Entertainment’s award-winning MMO War Thunder on the OnLive Game Service. The free-to-play game will be added to OnLive’s recently-launched CloudLift subscription, which empowers gamers to play PC games they already own, anywhere via the cloud on a wide range of connected devices, instantly.
By ‘lifting’ War Thunder to the cloud, new and existing players of the game will be able to play their game wherever they choose, without needing to re-download the full game client. All progress and purchases are synced in the cloud so the player can move between devices seamlessly.
Playing War Thunder through CloudLift also massively lowers the recommended PC or Mac specification while still delivering smooth 720p60 graphics and NVIDIA enhanced effects. The game can even be played on an Android tablet using a Bluetooth controller, making the game mobile for the first time.
CloudLift is available to try for free for 7 days, allowing for an instant trial of War Thunder as well. Simply download the OnLive client for PC or Mac from games.onlive.com/download, or the OnLive Android app from the Google Play store, and check out this amazing game in all its graphical glory.
“We’re thrilled to partner with the talented team at Gaijin and provide the convenience of instant access to all the intense, richly detailed action of War Thunder to their users,” said Mark Jung, Executive Chairman. “By expanding the CloudLift subscription to include a free-to-play MMO such as this one, we can now offer content in the subscription for our players to access right away, anywhere on a wide range of devices, even before they own any of the traditional download games.”
Anton Yudintsev, CEO of Gaijin Entertainment, added: “OnLive is making it possible for our millions of War Thunder fans to jump into combat quickly, wherever they are and on whatever device they’re carrying. We’re looking forward to engaging our current players more deeply and more often, while bringing new users into our game.”
War Thunder is the first free-to-play game added to the OnLive Game Service, expanding the possibilities for cloud gaming and providing MMO players a new way to interact with their favorite games wherever they are.
