Microsoft Surface RT orders will ship with a free Touch or Type cover, it has been revealed. Ordering a Microsoft Surface RT tablet on the company’s website will net customers a £99 Touch cover or its £109 Type equivalent at no extra cost.
Microsoft launched its 10.6-inch Surface RT tablet late last year. Running a scaled down version of Windows 8, the tablet’s keyboard and office tools allow users to perform work-related tasks.
It received mixed reviews, with journalists generally praising the slate’s hardware capabilities, but criticising its lack of software and weighty form factor.
Early sales of the tablet were said to be “modest”, although combined sales of Surface RT and Surface Pro have since reached 1.5 million.
