The Curiosity app has introduced a feature to re-grow the cube. Peter Molyneux of 22 Cans has announced the new option for players to pay to add or remove cubelets in the game.
The experiment invites users to chip away at the block to uncover the “truly amazing” and “absolutely unique” secret within.
“We don’t know quite what will happen in this war of attrition,” said 22 Cans in a statement.
“Curiosity may very well rapidly degrade to reveal its innermost secret or maybe the effects of automatically removing cubelets will be neutralised by players keen to keep Curiosity going.”
The added and removed cubes will be applied to the next layer to be revealed.
According to Eurogamer, users have so far paid to remove 13,780,000 cubelets and add another 4,680,000, decreasing the next layer by 9.1 million in total.
