The mobile app is available on iOS and Android, as well as the Kindle OS and new Samsung smart TV’s, and the device is AirPlay and DLNA compatible. It also provides for seamless backup of Windows and Mac machines, and will also back up the photos and videos straight from Facebook, a really nice feature.
I was able to play with this device in a full-blown demo in the Seagate suite, and can confirm that streaming worked very well on iOS and Android devices. The UI of the mobile app is consistent across platforms and is easy to use; pretty much anyone in the family will be able to use these apps to stream content.
Enjoy these product photos; as you can see, this small device is likely to look right at home in pretty much any living room.
This product will ship in March and will start at $189.99 for a 2TB size, so be on the lookout for it soon.
