As well as the iPad Mini, Apple also introduced the 4th generation iPad last night, only a short while after the New iPad!
So what are the differences between this one and the last New iPad?
Well, this one has the new Lightning connector (the one the iPhone 5 has). It also has a A6X CPU which Apple claim is twice as fast as the processor in the third iPad. There is also a 5 megapixel rear iSight camera, and the battery life is still at 10 hours.
The new iPad will also support LTE too!
Anyone who purchased the third generation iPad in the last 30 days can swap to the new one!
Poor show on Apples part; releasing a replacement to the iPad ‘3’ so soon. My next tablet will be Windows8 purely based on principle.

Its barely months since the last ‘updated iPad’. Apple worked of a pretty well understood annual update cycle – shortening this cycle is purely a money grabbing exercise from one of the, if not the, richest company in the world; greed is not an attractive quality.
It’s been 7 months since they released the new iPad, and this isn’t a whole new iPad, it’s just a few little updates, and to top it off if you brought one in the last 30 days you swap with the latest. Now THAT is customer service.
All technology companies are greedy… how do you think that Windows got where they??? and another consideration is that 1 year in technology today is a long time, longer in terms of development than it used to be so if a new or updated iPad comes out every 7 months then fine by me… move with technology or wait for a few years – that is your choice.
If you go with a windows tablet purely for this reason, apple aren’t going to notice and to be honest you’ll be looking thinking… wish I had an iPad.
I have an iPad, the now discontinued 3 and the original iPad now handed down to the wife. I was in the market for something to use at work, something more portable like the mini-iPad now going to hold fire for Win8 tablets. No point getting the mini as in 6 months time it will be replaced with mini-2 and that will have the better screen and be what the mini-1 should have been this time round.
