Dynamic DNS Configuration

Setting up the dynamic DNS service was easy.  TRENDnet has agreements with several of the leading providers; I chose No-Ip.Org as they offer a free service.  Here are the options included:

Check out the options, configure an account to use and transfer the account information over to this screen under Network.  Hit Save.  As long as you have also set the DNS servers, your camera should now be visible from outside your network.

Motion Detection

This camera supports motion detection.  Configuration is easy: click on Motion Detection under Configuration and enable the service.  Also you set the field of view that you want the camera to respond to.  Here is what that looks like on my camera:

You can see that I set the motion detection to respond to the door opening.  I did that by clicking in the blocks where I am concerned about motion.  That cuts down on false positives.  Also, you can set the sensitivity.  I left it at the default of 90%, but you can tune the responsiveness to detected motion.

  1. I recently bought the same camera for use as a baby monitor and couldn’t be happier with it. Completely agree with the reviewer’s assessment. My only complaint with the camera is that audio doesn’t work over wireless, which is apparently fairly common according to Google. Everything works perfectly over a wired connection, though.
