If you run the Setup Assistant you can configure the partition sizes on the drive and choose what type of computer (Windows, Mac, Linux) you want to use it with. You could of course just format the drive yourself, but then you wouldn’t get access to the additional software that is then available to you.
You can then choose to view the manuals or access additional software if you need to.
You can also set up an encrypted volume on the drive using the Private-Public application and working through the wizards.
Performance Testing
We put the drive through our usual barrage of performance tests.

Final Thoughts
The drive looks very sleek and very cool, which is exactly what you would expect with the Porsche Design name on it!
It is very light-weight so carrying it around in your bag, or even your pocket is certainly an option. If you do carry it around though and you want to take files you wouldn’t want anyone else seeing, we would certainly recommend using the Private-Public software that LaCie provide to create an encrypted partition and store those file there. Better to be safe than sorry!
The drive is very quiet as well, and did I mention how good it looks?
Cost wise, the retail price for the 1TB is £129.99 and the 500MB is £84.99, but as usual look around for the best deals.
