There is a pretty cool website as well, which in time will have additional downloads and other things worth checking out.
Making the Magic Happen
As mentioned earlier in the review, there are 13 different gestures that can be used to control your devices. It is worth spending some time learning each one. These gestures include flicking the wand, swishes, taps, double-taps and more. The manual takes you through each one in turn so that you can get used to them. As you perform each gesture, there are a certain number of pulses to show you that you have done it right.
It takes about 30 minutes to really get the hang of it, and once you do get the hang of it, it is easy.
The next thing you have to do is teach your wand the controls you want each gesture to do. This is just a case of putting the wand into learning mode, selecting the gesture you want to use and then pointing the wand at the remote and pressing the relevant button. And then obviously repeating this 12 more times.
Then you can amaze your friends on your magical abilities at changing the channel, or increasing the volume using your wand.
Final Thoughts
The Kymera Wand has to be one of the coolest gadgets I have ever played around with. It looks very cool, comes in fantastic packaging, and so far everyone who has seen it has commented on it.
For the most part, learning to use the wand was easy, and having the wand learn the basic remote control functions for my TV was simple. The problems started when I tried some of the satellite remote functions. Unfortunately these were a little hit and miss, but I have to be honest, it didn’t really matter, because I wasn’t ever intending to replace my remotes with the wand. Certainly it is easier to do satellite and cable remote functions with the relevant remote control, although it doesn’t look as cool.
You might think then that you would get bored of using it very quickly. Well you don’t, or at least I didn’t. And I can see children loving the wand, not only for use on the TV, but also in recreating their favourite Harry Potter scenes.
The wand will sit in front of my TV waiting for the next muggle to come round and experience the magical art of changing channels.
The Kymera Ward retails for £49.95, and Amazon are doing a really good deal on it at the moment.

Interesting review! How’s Mrs. UsingWindowsHomeServer liking the wand?
She likes to remind me that I am not a kid, but she thought the wand was cool!
That looks cool to me too. However my “Financial Director” likes to remind me that I am still a kid !!
