Tim and I just wanted to take this opportunity to wish all our readers a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
This year has certainly been an interesting one – ok, the majority of that being the last month or so what with the announcement that Drive Extender has been removed from Vail and that HP have dropped out of the Windows Home Server market.
We are often asked if we think that this is the end for Windows Home Server. And I think, and hope, that the answer is NO. At the moment it is a tough sell for someone with a working V1 Windows Home Server to upgrade to Vail (as it stands today), but new users, who many not want or need that functionality that Drive Extender brought to the mix might not care.
Only time will tell – and you can bet that here at UWHS we will be covering it!
If you haven’t yet read it, take a look at Tim’s Christmas post, it’s brilliant. Yes, it’s a repeat, but isn’t that what Christmas is all about?
So what will 2011 have in store for UWHS? Well, Tim and I are toying with a number of new ideas for the site, including a face lift and a possible site name change! I know!!! Don’t worry drinking game fans, we will of course transfer over all drinks to work with whatever we change the name of the site to, if we change it.
You might ask yourself why change the name? Well, to be honest, the site has grown considerably and we cover a lot more than just Windows Home Server, so we figured maybe it was time for a change. Don’t worry though, Windows Home Server is still top of our agenda, no matter what we do.
And we will of course be asking you, our readers, for your comments, feedback, suggestions and help. In fact, if you have any suggestions feel free to contact us – you never know, we might include them and you might win a prize!
So everyone have a safe and joyful Christmas and thank you for making UWHS what it is.
Best Wishes from me as well.
I'll be waiting to see what appears for us in 2011 and I am sure we will be stretching it to the limit (whatever it may be).
Merry Christmas Andrew & Tim, thanks for hanging in there this year for all the great reviews, videos and giveaway's. Have a great New Year and have fun starting 2011 by enjoying CES2011.
thanks John, and thanks for being a part of UWHS, and we look forward to you keeping us on our toes in 2011!
I just had 20 shirts made with the UWHS logo. No name change!
Best Wishes from me as well. I'll be waiting to see what appears for us in 2011 and I am sure we will be stretching it to the limit (whatever it may be).
