Can you now do any maintenance through the glass panel or would you have to unmount the case?

Why did you install 2 ethernet cables? I Have an X58 board also but how or why would I use 2 internet connections.

I can get to the case when I remove the plastic grommet and glass. It just acts like a see-through lid.
Dual ports can allow for load balancing or teaming on your internal network.
