MICHAEL’S FOLDER STRUCTURE & NAMING CONVENTIONS
I have separate folders in a video share for HD movies, SD movies, and TV Shows. Recorded TV is kept in a separate share. I also have a specific way of naming my files. This aids in both file and folder management, but also helps the metadata scrapers.
This is my HD folder. I keep them in .mkv format and use a this convention \\server\share\Blu Ray\Movie Title – (year)\ActualMovie.mkv
This is my DVD folder. I keep them in .iso format and use a this convention \\server\share\DVD\Movie Title – (year)\ActualMovie.iso
This is my TV Show folder. I keep them in .mkv format and use a this convention \\server\share\TV\Show Title\Season#\Show SxEE – Episode Name.mkv
S=Season# and EE= Episode#

Here is the link to get the whole home DVR service from DirecTV that Mike, and Michael, are using.
***Update***
There was some debate on the show if would actually stream content from a home server. Tim purchased and tested the Roku box and his final answer is that it would not stream from a WHS or HTPC. Sorry folks!
And as usual you can listen to the show here.
