Zalman Heatsink CNPS (see the size of this thing) before you ask I opted for an external power brick low power usage (see below)
I also removed North Bridge and put arctic silver on it and CPU
Next was 4 GB OCZ PC-6400 800Mhz Dual Channel

Bluray/HDDVD Player

Cool case.
Did you look into clarkdale at all?
Also, I ended up ditching TMT. Too many issues. I ended ripping everything to MKVs in 1080p and LPCM. Works really well in Windows 7.
Sorry I'm righting on my blackberry
I didn't look at clarkdales, and
I felt the same way about TMT till
I used the link below to change
the remote codes to keyboard commands
now I can use my harmony 890 remote and imon ir reciever to control wmc and TMT3 stop start an ff ect
without any problems
Some useful links to check out
I am confused at this. Where is the power supply in this case? It looks like that enormous fan you are using has taken up all the room.
I also don't understand why you would only want room for 1 hard drive. This is a WHS right?
This article makes me wonder why it was put on the front page of UWHS when it applies to virtually no one.
WUT
Its a media center PC he has built. He is streaming from his WHS.
All articles appear on the front page to begin with – it applies to anyone who is interested in reading about other peoples builds.
We have had a lot of positive comments from Tim's articles.
Andrew
Wut is up with the huge gaping hole that a power supply should be installed at? You expecting dust not to enter there for some reason?
Glad you asked , I covered it with clear plexiglass
And I used an external power supply, check the link below the picture of the 20 pin
Molex, its a way cool way to power a pc
Did you get a chance to check it out ?

Thanks for the article. My first time here and it has given me some fresh ideas, which is always welcome.
I'm using the over clocked AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition Deneb 3.4GHz and a bank of DDR3.
Regardless of the type of build, I can't stress strongly enough using a *quality* power supply. I've tried to cut corners in that department and have always paid an unpleasant price.
Look forward to more articles from you.
Regards..
Steve
Hi Steve,
I agree completely about the PSU. I had a HTPC with Graphics like Tim Daleo is using on his build and yes it loved power, and I also used the corsair he is using its a single phase with very little Voltage droop and proforms fantastic
But
I have had great results with this power supply and board combo, i havent had a single flicker, flutter or freeze to date, Playing DVD blurays, streaming blurays, and when the CETON comes out i suspect the same
I would love to see some pics of your system , how about a quick show and tell
email Andrew
Hey Welch… Was wondering what you had going on in the middle tower in your last picture of all three machinces… Is it hard drive array for your WHS box? If so, can you tell me where you got it or got the parts?
Thanks
Hi Tyler
I wish, not really!
I have restored so many drives with WHS without any trouble that i really just focus on proformance
actually what you see at the top is the bluray and in the bottom is the 500 GB hard drive and IO plate i forgot to grab before i took the pic,
but since you mentioned it.
i do have a few tricks left for this build
since this case can only handle 1- 3.5 drive and i stream all my movies and tv shows from the server
I have some ideas,
1. to use 2- 2.5 drives in raid 0 in place of the 3.5(space restrictions with my over sized heat sink, hehe)just need to order bracket from Lain Li, they have so many mod parts and they make a damn good case
2. use 1 of the 2.5s for OS and 1 for the Ceton TV recording landing and immediate playback
3. opps i forgot the motherboard has esata and i connected that to the 8 bay hard drive tower in the main picture guess
4. leave it alone it pays everything without a hicup
5. ill report back the results of the Ceton card next month recording 3 playing 1
recording 2 playing 2
wanna hear something funny?
my 3 yr old can turn on pc,
turn on media center,
start a movie,
using mymovies
streamed from server
i created a monster 🙂
Hope that helped Tyler
Hi Tyler,
Just re read your question on my blackberry , this time ill actually answer the question. 🙂
SANS DIGITAL TR8M-B 8 Bay SATA to eSATA (Port Multiplier) JBOD Enclosure
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N…
it has 2 esata ports on back, 1 for each 4 drives in unit.
i plug 1 into HP ex470 and 1 into HTPC
I found a few tidbits that i applied:
1. Buffer to 2 Hours and some of the other tweeks
http://www.nedmug.com/Blogs/tabid/226/PostID/33/I…
2. the Raid using
