For those of you in the States, Best Buy has Windows 7 pre-order available for the same discounted price!
God Damn it !!! US only offer again from Microsoft – all you get from Amazon UK is the offer to send you an e-mail when it's available. Bet the Pro version is more than $99 too when it's available here!
Carl – yeah, tell me about it – I am based in the UK as well, although Amazon claim that the UK deal will be announced during July.
Is there a discounted upgrade path from Vista Ultimate to Win7 Ultimate? (I want the BitLocker…!)
John – no, there doesnt appear to be at this time 🙁
Ok, does anyone have and opinion on which would be the best version to choose when upgrading to Windows 7 given that I have and HP Home Media Server. If I preorder I can get the Premium Edt. for $49; the Professional edt. for $99 vs the Ultimate Edition for $219. MSFT provides very litte details on the differences between them. Looks like the Premium edition should do it as the features the other versions offer I pretty already have by virtue of the Home Media server.
Found a good reason to go with the Professional Edt. It comes with an XP compatitbility mode and I have a bunch of legacy applications I have no been able to run under Vista.
