The latest Nintendo Direct presentation might have been focused on upcoming Nintendo Switch titles, ARMS and Splatoon 2, but that didn’t stop the company from providing new details on several upcoming Nintendo 3DS titles.
The upcoming Pikmin title has been given the title of Hey! PIKMIN. The title once again sees the heroic Captain Olimar take control of the brave little Pikmin. The captain has crashed on another planet, but at least it’s populated with Pikmin that are eager to help him. This new adventure marks the first time that players can control Olimar in a 2D platform title and it will also make use of the handheld’s touch screen to throw Pikmin.
Hey! PIKMIN is scheduled to be released on the 28th July 2017. A new Pikmin amiibo is also scheduled to be released on this same date and it will work with the upcoming Pikmin Nintendo 3DS adventure.
Fan of adventure role playing titles are in for a treat with the upcoming release of Ever Oasis on the Nintendo 3DS. The story involves the main Seedling character working together with the water spirit Esna to preserve the last oasis and protect it from an evil force. The title will focus on the relationship between these characters as it is strengthened whilst playing the title. Players can expect plenty of battles in real-time, dungeons to explore and puzzles to solve. All this whilst efficiently managing the oasis to ensure that it can be expanded and filled with more characters.
Ever Oasis is scheduled to be released on the 23rd June 2017.
Fans of the popular Monster Hunter franchises will be pleased to know that the next adventure, Monster Hunter Stories, is coming out towards the end of 2017. The title will let players bond with monsters to train them and make use of their unique abilities, such as flying and swimming, to access new areas. There are eggs to be found and hatched to bond with more monsters. The title also makes use of turn-based battles with multiplayer monsters, which is a first for the franchise.
Monster Hunter Stories is scheduled to be released this Autumn 2017.
The success of bizarre Nintendo 3DS exclusive Miitomo has paved the way for Miitopia. The title is similar to StreetPass Quest, in that it also involves characters battling enemies in turn-based battles. Except that Miitopia has a bigger focus on managing the various Mii characters used by the player. This includes managing friendships to make them more effective in battle and giving roles to allies.
Miitopia is scheduled to be released at some point in 2017.
Nintendo also revealed three new Kirby titles (one of which is now out) to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the franchise. Kirby Blowout Blast sees Kirby having to deal with challenging stages by inhaling as many enemies as possible to unleash devastating attacks.
Kirby Blowout Blast is scheduled to be released at some point in Summer 201. A new multiplayer focused Kirby title is also coming out at some point in Winter 2017.
Those eager to exercise their neurons will be happy to know that Dr Kawashima’s Devilish Brain Training is finally being released on the 28th July 2017.
