Instagram will be released for Windows Phone devices later this month, exclusive to Nokia smartphones, according to a report.
Chinese site WPDang claims that the Facebook-owned service will arrive on the Windows Store on 26th June, complete with new filters for the Microsoft operating system.
Microsoft’s Windows Phone OS has struggled to wrestle significant market share from iOS and Android, with the absence of high-profile apps such as Instagram belived to be partially to blame.
However, recent figures suggests that Windows Phone has overtaken BlackBerry OS as the world’s third biggest mobile operating system with a 3.2% share of the market.
Android and iOS collectively make up 92.3% of the mobile sector, but it should be noted that both have had a significant head start over Microsoft’s OS.
Instagram is yet to be officially confirmed for Windows Phone.
It better be damn true
