Today Codemasters announced F1 ONLINE: THE GAME will be expanded with a range of new features and brand-new circuits in a wide-ranging update launching today.

F1 ONLINE: THE GAME is the fun new free-to-play online racing and management game which invites players to create and develop their own racing team from Codemasters Studios under exclusive worldwide agreement with Formula One World Championship Limited.

F1 ONLINE: THE GAME, currently in open BETA, today adds three new circuits in Japan which can be raced with up to 24 players online. Complimenting the existing licensed circuits and expanding the fictional environments to six, the new Japan routes are inspired by Tokyo and offer three different street racing challenges. ‘Kitamachi Kaido’ offers a short sprint through a financial district with aggressive corners, the ‘Higashi Kokado’ is a high-speed sprint through docklands and includes a dramatic elevated expressway and the ‘Ryokuen Route’ is an extensive race in which players speed through parks and past Imperial Palaces.

Further updates being added to F1 ONLINE THE GAME include all-new High-Performance A-Class components, new Team Headquarters upgrades and a new Friends system which will enable players to invite friends to a race. A range of new Team Objectives extend the game further and players will now be able to sign-up and login to the game via Facebook. Full details on all of the updates can be found by logging on to ;
F1 ONLINE: THE GAME combines intuitive top-down racing gameplay with the ability to create and grow your own racing team. Players will dive into a range of multiplayer races across a range of game modes with simple controls on track and become the team boss off the track.

To lead their team to victory, players will choose how to develop their team HQ and create, customise and upgrade their very own racing car. F1 ONLINE: THE GAME is being developed in-house at Codemasters using the Unity game engine to deliver stunning performance in a web browser.
