This week I was lucky enough to be invited to spend the evening at the NVIDIA Arcade, an event held in Central London for a few lucky people.
Rather than having a product announcement, the night at the NVIDIA arcade was more about showcasing NVIDIA technology within it’s partners offerings. For example, tablets from Packard Bell and Dell, laptops from Motorola and Alienware, and even a very cool demo of the new Battlefield 3 game from EA Games!
A great night was had by all there, and I managed to get a few pictures to give you an idea of what was there.
And a very big thank you to NVIDIA for the invite!Learn more from the NVIDIA website
Apologies for the lighting on some of the pictures, it was dark in the arcade!
Packard Bell Liberty – NVIDIA Tegra 2
And here is a short video of me using it:
This was the first time I had the opportunity to play on the Liberty tablet, and I quite liked it.
Dell Streak 7 – NVIDIA Tegra 2
Motorola Atrix and Lapdock – NVIDIA Tegra 2
LG Optimus 2X – – NVIDIA Tegra 2
Alienware M18X – NVIDIA GeForce 580M
3D Vision PC – NVIDIA GeForce GTX 580 SLI
I’m not a big fan of 3D, but I found the 3D Vision PC to be very good quality and it gave the demo game a much more immersive feeling. At least it did when I remembered to switch on the 3D glasses!
Alienware M11X – NVIDIA GeForce 540M
Motorola XOOM – NVIDIA Tegra 2
This was a very cool tablet device that could be connected to an HD television so that you could see the display on both the TV and the tablet screen. I do think Fruit Ninjas may very well be the next Angry Birds as it was very addictive!
EA Games were on hand to demo a level in their upcoming Battlefield 3 game, and all I can say is that the level was very cool and I cant wait to play the full game.
The PC that the demo was running on looked very cool, as you can see below. We didn’t manage to get the specs, but boy did it look powerful!
Take a look at a video of part of the level. Again, apologies for the quality.
