The LaCie Rugged Hard Disk has both the universal USB 2.0 interface as well as the new Power eSATA interface, which, when connected to a Power eSATA port on your laptop, will allow your drive to be bus-powered. With the included USB power-sharing cable, it can also work with a standard eSATA port as well, making it incredibly compatible.
